Getting links back up

Hey, I've jsut been kinda rotting all over the place. And I see some of you have been tearing your hair out trying to get access to old PK download links, or whatever workarounds for reading this.

Well, I've been working on getting new ones up. No reason to be hiding PKNA anymore, since the official translation has stopped because clearly nobody was buying any issues. What a shame.

I got download links available now for PKNA and PK2, cuz they are the msot important things in the word in this category, and as far as all those seperated bonus stories go, I merged everything into one their respective single files. Just for the sake of convenience. Eh, I forget who to give credit to when it comes to translating this and that.

Will be putting up all that other knickknack in the future.

Head on over to the sidebar now to find the link to rule all links.

  1. That's wonderful! I'm probably one of those clickers, as I've been organising my Norwegian PKNA/PK2 collection recently, and as part of that project was going through your translations on my PC to check that every issue had every page (as some of the specials printed towards the end of the run didn't to save pages), printing the missing ones to fold them into the comics where they belong.

I've always assumed the PKNA stuff was complete since they felt OK with spending so many pages on character profiles and the like back then and hadn't started cramming ads on the back to cut costs and so forth. But I thought I'd be extra thorough since I was going through the trouble this time, and the one I never checked that I'm a bit extra curious about is "If...", since it was a double issue in Italian and therefore presumably could have had more pages than the Norwegian editors could justify cramming in. (Again, I always assumed it didn't, but it doesn't hurt to check...)

Sadly, though, "If..." seems to be the only issue without a working download link on your awesome new download page. I hate to be the guy whining about the one missing issue, but I figure you'd probably just be happy to know about the broken link. (Hopefully. If not, feel free to ignore my entitled babbling.)

Speaking of entitled babbling, did you ever read (and if you read, consider translate) that PK Universo stuff I heard they did a while back? (I might have asked this before, my memory is famously shite.) I know it's not supposed to be on par with the subsequent PKNE revival, but for completism's sake I'm very curious, and unless Google is failing me it doesn't seem to exist outside Italia.

    Thanks a ton, again!

    1. Thanks for the notification, link is working properly now. And yes, Norwegian version has same amount of pages.

PK Universe isn't really worth any attention, nothing interesting happens and it's not in canon with anything. Move on, nothing to see here.

    2. Cool, thanks for confirming! I guess the only ones with missing pages, then (aside from some of the shortened "Reloaded" reprints that were complete the first time around) are "Super" and "Duckmall"? Or have I missed some? Oh, and there was a special issue that had the two pages at the centre in the inverted order I recall, I think maybe that was Duckmall as well, but I can't remember.

Too bad about PK Universe, then, but that could also be said about Pikappa, which you did bother with -- does that mean PK Universe is (gasp) even more underwhemling? :O One shudders to think.

    3. *underwhelming. Underwhemling is a fun typo, though. Sounds like a 80s movie fantasy creature or something.

    4. Another missing link is PK² #07 - One More Day. It's linking to PK² #06 instead.

    5. I realise you are prioritising PKNA/PK2 (understandably so), but would you also happen to have Pikappa #30 (and its side-story) laying around? If I understand the Net correctly, that number was skipped in the Norwegian releases, so I'm missing it. :\

  2. Where does it say that Duck Avenger was cancelled? Can't find the news source anywhere. As far as I know, the comics are just being released at a slow rate (two to three months, I think).

  3. I don't know about official reportage because I can't find it anymore, but here they say it was suspended rather than cancelled:

First time I heard about cancellation was from Arbitani, if I remember correctly.

  4. Sorry, I meant Artibani

  5. Hey Banker, if you forgot who to credit for each translation, there's a web archive of the original Bankin' the Duck blog with all the download links, along with the credits for all the translations (for PKNA, you'll need to look at older versions of the archive). The link to the web archive was provided in your previous blog entry (PKNE #05 - Part 4 (Complete)), courtesy of Anon.

  7. Hello there! I've been following your blog for quite a while, and I was hoping that you can put the links for the older PKNE stories (mainly Might and Power) and Double Duck =D I will totally appreciate it if you do and thank you!

  8. So I've been at Lucca Comics last weekend and wanted to give you guys an update about the things to expect next year regarding PKNE. I've talked to Sisti about this and he told me that Artibani's final story will be published in March 2018. This will be the only long PK story next year, Sisti and Sciarrone will continue with their Xadhoom storyline in 2019. BUT he also told me that he is planning a shorter story that will be inspired by Blade Runner and that we can expect that to come out already around February/March next year (which means very close to the Corona finale). Personally I'd prefer not to have two stories in spring and then nothing for the rest of the year but then again I'm totally looking forward to both of them!

(Btw I haven't read the first part of the current celebrative story for Scrooge's 70th anniversary yet (the one by Sisti/Sciarrone) but it looks definitely promising, Sciarrone at its best, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the "Storia e Gloria della dinastia dei Paperi" saga which this new story belongs to)

  9. Great news! Thanks for sharing!

I´d like to read Scrooge's 70th anniversary story but I have too much work to do.

  10. Wait, next one is the last story from Artibani? Why?

  11. Yes, it will be his last story. Basically, he wanted to go out on a high note. I got the impression that he kind of felt that he had "done his duty" by bringing Pk back to life with Potere e Potenza and by writing a conclusion to many of the things left in suspense (also in PK2) with that last story. He will still be writing in the future, just not for PK anymore...

I haven't heard anything yet about new authors that would take over after him (at least there is still Sisti), but I strongly hope that some of the younger authors from the Topolino team will at least consider it (especially someone like Pietro B. Zemelo, I love his writing style and it would fit perfectly!). If there should come up any rumors in this regard, I will spread them here of course!

    1. Thanks for the news, hope the new writers are good. Alo, do you know what's the next chapter about?

    2. The one by Artibani/Pastrovicchio (March '18) will be the conclusion of the Corona storyline (with Everett, his daughters etc).

Btw what I said about possible new writers was just speculation from my side, there are not even rumors yet... just to make sure there wasn't any misunderstanding ;)

  12. I'm glad you put these out, I've been searching for PK in English for over a month now and I could only find links to the missing blog and missing files!

But I have a question... Is there any way to read PKNE issues #1-4? I can't find them anywhere I look and I'd really like to read them, especially Might and Power...

    2. Thank you!

Is Pikappa worth the trouble of finding? Once again, every link I find for it is through the missing blog (except like.. a handful of the ones in the 'teens) and I have all of 40 cents in my bank account, no way I can afford the first 13 issues on comixology...). Is it worth the frustration I'm going through trying to find it?

  13. I promised I would inform you as soon as I had any news regarding the future of the PkTeam - well, now it was sooner than I thought (and a pleasant surprise, I have to say).

This evening, Francesco Artibani has announced (and I'm quoting his own words) that his resignation was declined... What actually had happened was that the editorial staff of Topolino had asked him if he could continue to write for PK and he eventually accepted. I'm so happy, it feels like the future for new Duck Avenger stories is quite safe now :D
